I'll start by admitting to being a terrible blogger, I've been away now for nearly three weeks and not posted a thing! My only excuse is that I've been enjoying myself and spending far too long either lazing on the beach or drinking too much. We are now on Phu Quoc island in Vietnam and so far we have visited Bali, Gili Trawangan and Ho Chi Minh City so I will be playing catch up in my posts.
Bali seems to have been a blur of beaches and Bintang (the local beer which I drank way too much of!) and it seems like while we were there we didn't really get much done. We stayed in Sanur, a quieter area in Bali, with the intention of getting our PADI certificates while we were there but due to illness we were unable to do this. We spent one morning on a snorkelling trip, which was a little more productive than lazing on the beach, but due to the last stop being at what I can only describe as being a low budget petting zoo I can't really claim to have done anything amazing during the daytime.
Our nights in Bali, however, turned out pretty amazing. As I mentioned before where we stayed in Sanur was a very quiet area which was lovely during the day but meant we had to venture a bit further for some nightlife. Fortunately we met a girl on our flight who was staying in Seminyak, on the other side of the island, who had found some great places for a night out in Kuta. The last time I was in Bali I hated Kuta and to be perfectly honest during the day my opinion is the same but their nightlife is pretty wicked. We had some really great nights out and got talking to some great people so if you're looking to party it's the place to go!
We also spent some time in Seminyak on the evenings checking out the shops the amazing Potato Heads Beach Club. This was definitely a splurge as it was pretty much English prices but it was a lovely place to watch the sunset with a cocktail.
Although we didn't manage to get up to much during our time in Bali I still had an amazing time and fortunately during my last visit I was able to do a lot more activites and trips so I don't feel as though I've missed out. My only regret is not taking enough photos! I've been kicking myself majorly over this so I'm trying to make sure I'm taking pictures everyday. I will be aiming to include more pictures in upcoming posts and will be playing catch up on my Instagram account so be sure to keep track of what I'm up to on my other social media accounts. Stay tuned for my upcoming post on Gili Trawangan, probably one of my favourite places I've been!
