I can't believe how fast 2016 has gone by and how much has changed over the past year. I have visited so many new places and met so many new people and I myself have changed dramatically from the person I was last year. 2016 has definitely tested me and it’s had it’s fair share of challenges, but overall it has been another incredible year spent living my dream. I’m so proud of myself for making my dream of travelling happen, let alone to still be travelling and starting this new year in yet another new destination!
I have been travelling in Australia for pretty much the whole of this year (excluding two brief visits back home) and I’ve achieved so much. I landed my dream job, gained an awesome certification and I’ve grown so much as a person and realised a lot of important things about life and myself. I don’t want to ramble on and on sounding all soppy but I went through a lot of shit and emotional turbulence at the beginning of the year, but it has taught me a lot and really developed me as a person. I feel so much stronger and so much more aware of myself for having gone through those experiences and I’m happy that I’ve had the opportunity to learn from my own and other’s mistakes. What doesn’t kill you really does make you stronger!
I feel as though I’m already going into 2017 as a new woman so I’m not trying to do the whole ‘New Year, New Me’ thing, but I do want to set myself a few small resolutions and goals for the coming year. I’ve never been brilliant at sticking to resolutions so that is why I want to keep them small, but I do want to try and challenge myself and I think a little self improvement is good for everyone.
I have carefully thought through my goals/resolutions for 2017 and felt that if I physically wrote them down (or posted them on the internet!) I would be a lot more likely to actually stick to them, so here they are:
- Take at least one photo every day
- Be more adventurous
- Love and believe in myself more
I’m hoping I can work towards these little goals and resolutions throughout the year and wont give up on them as easily as I usually do. The last one may be more difficult and require more work than the other two but I think it’s the most important one for me and it is something I really want to focus on.
If there is anyone out there reading this I hope you have a wonderful New Years celebration this weekend and if you have set any resolutions for yourself, I wish you the best of luck. Bring on 2017!!!
